John Sidney was born September 6th 1896 in Halghton, to parents John & Clara Annie. He lived in this area all his life.

1911 living with family in Halghton, helping his father who was a Blacksmith
He married Marion Ralphs of Hereford Jun qtr 1938 and obviously followed his father into the blacksmith business because in 1939, his occupation is recorded as Master Blacksmith. He is still at Halghton Forge, living with Marion.
He died 7th November 1965 and is buried at Hanmer with Marion
His obituary (below) states that he took an active part in Maelor public life.
