His demobilisation certificate states that he enlisted on 4th June 1918; served in the UK and demobilised to Army Reserve Class Z on 13 February 1919.
James was born in Hanmer 26th June 1899, to parents John & Eliza. He spent most of his years in or around the area.
He was baptised in St Chad’s 23rd July 1899 and attended Hanmer school.
He possibly married Maggie Davies Jun qtr 1922, because James & ‘Maggie’ are together in 1939, farming at Adrefelyn, Penley (incorrect birth year recorded).
He died 20th September 1987 and is buried in St Chad’s churchyard with his wife.
