Joseph was born 27th February 1879 in the Overton/Penley/Cloy area to parents Richard & Elizabeth. He was baptised in Ellesmere 29th November 1866.

  • 1881: living at ‘Adravellin’ Cloy nr Overton, aged 2
  • 1891: aged 13, farm servant in Penley
  • 1901: aged 22, waggonner at Pant Farm
  • 1905: married Rose Hannah Bradshaw, June qtr, Ellesmere district
  • 1911: Cumbers Bank with Rose & 3 children, working as a waggonner
  • 1939: Dairy Farmer at Padeswood Hall, Buckley with Rose and son Robert J.
