His Flintshire Record of Service states that he served from 23rd November 1915 until 12th May 1919.
Ernest was born 22nd July 1890, in the Darlaston area, near Prees, before the family moved to Broughall, Whitchurch. His parents were Alfred & Elizabeth Foster.
By 1911, he was working on a farm in Tybroughton.
He married Elizabeth Butler of Halghton in 1913 and in the 1939 census they are living at Yew Tree Cottage, Halghton with several children. Ernest was employed as a cowman.
He died 19th June 1969 and is buried at Hanmer with his wife.
