Harold, Clarence & Francis were all sons of Levi Huxley & Hannah Moors. The family lived at Bettisfield, then Horseman’s Green and the children went to Hanmer school.

He married Mary Beevers Dec qtr. 1918 and in 1939 they are living at 69 Grove Street, Leamington Spa where Harold is a Stationery Store Keeper

Clarence was born 9th March 1894 in Bettisfield
- 1901 with parents & siblings at Bridge House, Bettisfield
- 1911 working on a farm at Stoke Park, Nr Market Drayton
Evidence exists to show that he travelled to Melbourne in 1923, with his brother Edgar. Although Clarence returned to the UK, his brother remained there until his death.
Clarence married Nellie Taylor 10th July 1929 at an Independent Methodist Chapel in Oldroyd, Todmorden and in 1939, they are together with children at Oldroyd Poultry Farm, Todmorden. Clarence is working as a grave digger.
He died under suspicious circumstances in 1956

Private Francis Huxley; 43627 9th Field Ambulance R.A.M.C.


Many of his army service records have survived and are available to read on Ancestry. He was a footman, aged 19 years & 12 days when he enlisted at Liverpool on 20th October 1914. he passed RAMC nursing class April 1915 and served with the 9th Cavalry Field Ambulance. Then he transferred 31 may 1919 to 1st Cavalry at Heppendorf and demobilised from there to the UK on 2 June 1919.
Francis was born 23rd November 1895.

- 1911 aged 15, a letter deliverer living with family at Horseman’s Green
Evidence exists to show that he arrived at Detroit 6th October 1923. He is possibly at Grosse Pointe, Wayne, Michigan in a 1940 census.
