His Medal Index card makes no reference to the Welsh Regiment, as written on his page in the Hanmer Remembrance Book.

His Flintshire Record of Service has the following written on it:

Went to France May 18, 1917. Gassed & wounded at Festubert Ap. 19, 1918. Sent home to England May 3, 1918. Joined Labour Corps, Sept 4, 1918. Demobilised March, 1919

  • 1891 aged 4 months, with parents & siblings in Everton (his mother was from Oswestry)
  • 1901 with his grandmother in :Llansilin (according to an Ancestry tree, his mother died 1892)
  • 1911 working on a farm in Llansilin, Near Oswestry

He married Frances Sarah Whitfield Dec qtr. 1914, Ellesmere district and in 1939, they are living at Beckley Town, Tarvin. Robert is a horseman.
