Reuben was born 3rd December 1898 and baptised in Hanmer Church 1st January 1899.
Like his brothers, he attended the local school until March 1912. Sadly, like his elder brother Fred, he lost his life fighting for his country.
CWGC – age 19. Gives his unit as 2nd South Wales Borderers, and date of death as 11 March. Son of George and Margaret Breslin later of Whitchurch Road, Hanmer. Killed at Ypres. No known grave – Tyne Cot Memorial, Ypres. “Soldiers Died in the Great War” states born at Hanmer and enlisted at Wrexham, and agrees with the CWGC information. Medal Index Card also gives him a previous Training Reserve number 22398 [The 2nd SWB was a regular Army unit.
