Herbert was born December 1899 in Halghton……(F.T. says 31st, Hanmer School says 13th and 1939 census says 30th!!), to parents Herbert Carr & Mary Butterton.
1901 they are living at Eglwys Cross. In the 1911 census he is referred to as ‘Reggie’.
According to his Flintshire Record of Service, he joined up May 24th 1918 and was demobilised Oct 30th 1919.
In the 1939 census he is with his elderly parents at Plas-warren Cottage in Ellesmere and is termed ‘Incapacitated’ under the heading of ‘occupation’.
He possibly died 6 Dec 1973, Oswestry dist.
